In fact, even conferences can be held even if the parties that need to be present are miles apart. Conference calling has made this possible. That’s how innovative technology is nowadays. Distance between people is bridged and they are able to talk to each other as though they are within the same office even while they are in reality in different parts of the world!

I wonder what further innovations will be made in the name of technology. It seems everything has been covered already. Postal mails have been replaced by e-mails, online chatting has been replaced by video chatting and now, board meetings has been replaced by conference calling. I’m eagerly awaiting what’s going to happen next.

Hence, I feel the need to get myself organized. I have access to a computer but then there are times when I have to go out and run some errands. But even so, I have to somehow be connected to the online world so I can keep tabs on my online endeavors. A laptop is still cumbersome for me so I think I should look into PDAs. At least, a PDA is small enough to fit in my pocket but can be powerful enough to let me do what needs to be done.

Maybe it’s high time I get one for myself. I just need to make sure it has more than sufficient memory for the price I’m willing to pay for it, perhaps dual functionality so my kids can enjoy watching a video or listening to music, and of course, Wi-Fi capability.

I have a friend whose brother is currently in the United States because of a demand in a company there. He was sent by his company here in the Philippines to work on a project there. It is a temporary contractual job but it is a good experience and will work well on his status in the company. Though he is still employed by the local company, he is earning what the Americans his rank are earning. I think that is cool. It would be good if he can continue his work there because he seems to be happy with his job there.

Now, I am planning to buy a laptop again. I need to have one so that I could be more mobile. In case of emergency, I could always pack-up my main source of income and leave immediately. So now, instead of saving for a Nikon D3000, I will buy a laptop or a netbook. This must be my first priority!!
