Back in the ‘70s, not all people had a television set. In fact, those who have are already considered rich. Houses with tv sets would have little kids come to their windows trying to watch their favorite soap operas in the evenings.

These days, almost every household, including the very poor ones have tv sets. They might not be the most modern ones, but at least everyone can watch their favorite noontime shows, all the way until the evening.

Every year more and more households upgrade their tv sets, especially when they see that prices have gone down or there’s a special sale somewhere. Personally , I

like Samsung LCD tv’s chic look. It’s definitely one of the things I’d like to buy before the year ends!

City driving can drive someone nuts. With unknown roads and undisciplined drivers everywhere, I cannot blame why people choose not to learn how to drive at all. But you know, driving around the city can also be easy breezy. All you have to do is equip your car with tom tom gps and you will surely get around with less stress. There is no need to worry about roads you do not know. All that will make you nuts would be those undisciplined drivers who do not know how to use the signal lights, those who do not stay in their lane, or even those who use their mobile phones while driving. Cost-efficient Web Conferencing

In the past, companies with branches all over the country or even in many parts of the world spend so much with IDD calls and travels of top executives just so they could attend a meeting at another branch. But this is not so anymore. Modern technology has allowed for Web conferencing so much so that general managers from all over the world can just sit in their offices and still attend an international meeting where quorum is needed.

The effective and efficient Web conference may need sophisticated system and equipment that could cost a lot of money but it is still worth it. After all, this is just a one-time expense, as compared to skyrocketing monthly telephone bills.

Conference calls make it possible for people to see each other’s face, talk to each other, and see each other’s expressions. And the good thing is, if there are virulent objections to the points being taken during the meeting, people are kept from hurting each other physically because they are just staring at a computer screen. The most that they could do is turn off the screen if they don’t want to listen to the proceedings anymore. Or they could throw a vase at the screen, which could mean a very expensive payable.

Nowadays you could listen to your own music anytime of the day, anywhere. While on board a bus or train, you can easily turn on your MP4 and enjoy your own music. The person next to you could also enjoy his. Very convenient, right? Especially with cordless headphones, you don’t have to worry about the wires getting tangled in your sleep.
It is also very convenient to use a wireless headset in your home. For one, you could listen to music while moving around the house freely. You can be preparing a meal, relaxing on the couch or simply sleeping. You don’t even have to be anywhere near your CD player !

As supposed to using the wired ones, you have to be at least two feet from your computer in order for you to listen to music. You don’t have to be near your computer If you are wireless.

Of course the best thing about having a wireless headset is you can turn the volume to as high as you can and you don’t disturb anyone. You could get lost in your own world and no one will even notice. Cool, right?

Which Would You Choose – Authentic or Fake?

Do you remember that time when some toys made in a certain country were detected to have very high lead content? These toys were pulled out from stores because high content of lead can be harmful to kids. About a year after that, the melamine milk scare rocked the whole world and guess where it started? You’re guess is right.

This country is known for not letting themselves fall behind other countries when it comes to new products and inventions. However, most often than not, quality is sacrificed for quantity. That’s because they like mass producing. Even the cell phones and other cell phone accessories like batteries that come from them are often considered substandard.

So if you were made to choose, would you choose something that’s cheaper yet functions poorly or would you rather choose an expensive item that passed quality control? That’s what I asked a friend when she was considering buying a generic cell phone battery because she said authentic Samsung phone batteries were a bit expensive. When she realized the point I was trying to raise, she went ahead and bought the original.

Bridging the Distance Between Continents

I am amazed at how much technology has improved. Just imagine owners of businesses are now able to have in their employ people from all across the world. They are able to oversee their employees even if they are thousands of miles away from each other by means of e-mail, video chat, instant messaging and the telephone.

In fact, even conferences can be held even if the parties that need to be present are miles apart. Conference calling has made this possible. That’s how innovative technology is nowadays. Distance between people is bridged and they are able to talk to each other as though they are within the same office even while they are in reality in different parts of the world!

I wonder what further innovations will be made in the name of technology. It seems everything has been covered already. Postal mails have been replaced by e-mails, online chatting has been replaced by video chatting and now, board meetings has been replaced by conference calling. I’m eagerly awaiting what’s going to happen next.

When iPad was released, I never thought that I would want one but as time passes I felt that it would be cool to have one since it has many apps that could benefit not only me as a blogger but also as a parent. Then later, since I could not afford to buy one, I decided to look for an alternative. I was contemplating of get Samsung Galaxy or the China iPad imitation called aPad but since most of them are beyond what I can afford or want, I decided to go back to checking out mobile phones with Android as a its operating system, the same OS for aPad and some smartphones.

Below are some of the mobile phones I have in mind:

Almost a Nikon D3000

I wanted to buy a Nikon D5000 as my second choice next to Nikon D90 but since I could not afford it until now, I decided to read several digital camera reviews specifically for entry level DSLR users like me. So, I found out that Nikon D3000 fits me! Aside from the nominal price it has, the features are enough for a newbie DSLR user.

Last week, I was close to have my very own Nikon D3000 but since it was unavailable, my husband opted to buy me a desktop PC instead. He said he will buy me a DSLR next year. As of now, we shall settle and enjoy my new desktop PC first!
