Just a few days ago, I saw the movie entitled “The Lovely Bones.” It was a movie based on the bestselling novel by Alice Sebold. The story was about a 14 year old girl who was murdered by their neighbor. She tells the story of what happened to her from heaven as how the life of those around her was changed as they journey to find her body.

The movie is really sad for me. If only the parents knew that their neighbor has a track record of being a sex offender who killed young girls, they would probably prevent the death of their daughter. If at that time (around 1970’s) they could track sex offender reports, they would have discovered that their neighbor was the one who killed their daughter.

Anyway, the movie was pure fiction but it reminds parents to stay alert on such matter. Many children are missing and no longer found because of such incidents. That is why I recommend this movie to parents to watch to remind them to tell their children not to trust just anybody for self protection.
