What is Eczema?

According to Wikipedia, Eczema is a form of dermatitis or inflammation of the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin). Adults, children and even babies suffer from this skin problem. They say that eczema is commonly caused by a general allergic over-sensitivity called atopy while others are caused by substances that irritates the skin.

There are four types of common eczemas namely atopic eczema, contact dermatitis, xerotic eczema and seborrhoeic dermatitis or commonly called cradle cap in infants.

Eczema can be cured. There are many creams, topical ointments and others that are used to treat this but it is always best to consult a doctor before using.
