Treatment for Hemorrhoids

A hemorrhoid, a painful ailment of the anus, is not deadly. It can be cured and treated.

In my search for treatment for hemorrhoids, I found that there are medical treatments that help to lessen the symptoms. Here are some points that I have found:
– warm tub or sitz baths several times a day in plain, warm water for about 10 minutes
– ice packs to help reduce swelling
– application of petroleum jelly, cortisone creams, hemorrhoidal cream (such as Preparation-H) or suppositories to the affected area
– wearing cotton underwear and loose clothing
– cleaning the anus after each bowel movement by patting gently with moist toilet paper or moistened pads
– taking acetaminophen or aspirin

Some hemorrhoids does not respond to this, so the follow procedure are done to eliminate it:
1. Rubber Band Ligation
2. Injection Sclerotherapy
3. Infrared Photocoagulation
4. Laser Coagulation
5. Hemorrhoidectomy

For external hemorrhoids, the following are done:
1. Infrared Photocoagulation
2. Laser Coagulation
3. Hemorrhoidectomy

To learn more about hemorrhoids treatment, I suggest you consult your doctor immediately.

  1. my mom once has a hemorrhoid and she told me that it started every time she gave birth to the three of us. Her problem is that when she eat too much of those spicy foods, it comes back again. She tried on the one that you mentioned in your blog which is the “application of petroleum jelly and hemorrhoidal cream” and it works well for her and it actually works.
